About Me

Hi! I’m Loïs, a student of Arts, Culture, and Media at the University of Groningen. My studies explore how art, culture, and media shape the way we see the world and connect with each other. I'm particularly interested in pop culture and the way global media creates shared experiences across borders.

In 2024, something happened that sparked my curiosity about an entirely new side of music. While attending Lollapalooza Berlin, I saw SEVENTEEN perform live. It was something I had never really heard or seen before. The performance style, the choreography, the scale of production, it all felt completely new to me.

That moment didn't change my music taste overnight, but it did open the door to exploring what else was out there. I started watching more performances, discovering new groups, and gradually falling down the K-pop rabbit hole.

Through this site, I write reviews that look closely at how K-pop performances and music videos are constructed. I'm particularly interested in the way choreography, visual imagery, music, and staging work together to communicate ideas and themes. Rather than focusing only on the song itself, my reviews explore how performances create meaning through movement, structure, and visual design.
